Coastal Carolina Health Care, P.A. is pleased to announce the partnership with Drs. Philip and Patricia Guilford at Atlantic Internal Medicine. The two will join the practice effective September 1, 2020 as Drs. Phillip and Christine Bounous enter their retirement on January 1, 2021. We are thrilled the Guilfords will be practicing in New Bern.

Dr. Patricia Guilford is originally from Greenville, SC. She earned a BS in Biology from the University of South Carolina in 2012. As a new graduate, she was a researcher in the field of cancer immunotherapy. Dr. Guilford graduated from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. She completed a 3 year family medicine residency at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA in 2020. Dr. Guilford is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Guilford enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She especially enjoys water sports, boating, yoga, exercising daily and eating healthy.

Dr. Guilford’s primary focus is preventative medicine through promoting healthy habits. She spends time counseling her patients on all aspects of health and well-being. Dr. Guilford chose family medicine as her specialty so that she could establish lifelong relationships with her patients and their families.

Dr. Philip Guilford completed his undergraduate studies at Florida State University and University of West Florida earning a B.A. degree in Music and a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. He went on to obtain his medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine near Greenville, South Carolina, and subsequently completed his internship and residency at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia.

Dr. Guilford is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and is currently accepting new patients.

In his spare time, Dr. Guilford enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with his family.
