Dr. Sant’Anna grew up in Boston Massachusetts.  She went to undergraduate at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she graduated with a BS in psychology and a minor in neuro science.  She then married and relocated to Austin Texas. After practicing Podiatry for over 20 years in Austin Texas, she relocated to Wilmington in the year 2020.    She has practiced both in Wilmington North Carolina, Wallace NC ,and in Jacksonville North Carolina.

During her career she has treated all types of foot conditions which includes bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, fractures, sports Medicine injuries, diabetic foot care, PodoPediatrics and general foot care. Dr. Sant’Anna has also worked for over a decade in clinical research.  She helped pioneer a bunionectomy model for testing investigational pain medication.  Over the 10 years, the research yielded lots of new medications being brought to market.

In her spare time, she enjoys her children, home renovation projects, creating backyard gardens and unwinding at local beaches.  Dr. Sant’Anna has lived now in new Bern NC since 2025.
